The Government consultation on planning reform remains in its early stages and I am liaising with our Councils and my fellow West Sussex Parliamentarians, as we engage with the Govt on the way to ensure these plans deliver in an appropriate way, nationally and locally.
I was delighted that my neighbour Andrew Griffith secured an “adjournment debate” on housing numbers. No votes are held on adjournment debates but they are an opportunity to highlight concern and require Ministerial response.
As Andrew mentioned in his speech, I was sorry not to be in the Chamber to hear the debate as I was visiting British troops on the NATO Forward Mission in Estonia. But I was very pleased local views were able to be raised and I attach a clip of the debate.
