Yesterday Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services published its report following an inspection of West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.

I am pleased that the inspection found the Improvement Plan implemented by the service, following its previous inspection in 2019, has resulted in significant improvements within the service. There are no inadequate ratings and three of the four causes for concern highlighted by the previous inspection have been discharged.
Whilst it is important to recognise progress has been made, I know there remains work to be done. I will continue to follow this matter closely.
