I recently caught up with Michael Wilson, the Chief Executive of East Surrey Hospital.
It was excellent to hear how the Hospital, following significant Government investment, has over time been able to increase its A&E capacity from 14 to 56 bays. The GP service operating alongside has also proved popular.
The Hospital’s nursing capacity is fully staffed for possibly the first time in its history but we discussed the pressures being created by our changing demographics and the vital need to encourage, retain and train medical professionals throughout their careers.
It was also a pleasure to be able to congratulate Michael in person on the Hospital’s “outstanding” rating in their recent CQC inspection.
