I regret that the RMT union has announced that further industrial action will take place on the following dates:
- Tuesday 13, Wednesday 14, Friday 16 and Saturday 17 December
- Saturday 24, Sunday 25, Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 December
- Tuesday 3, Wednesday 4, Friday 6 and Saturday 7 January
Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) expects severe disruption and is advising customers to only travel by rail if their journey is absolutely essential. If you must travel, GTR advises that you plan your journey beforehand: https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/
No trains will run on 25 and 26 December. Services at Billingshurst, Christ's Hospital, Faygate, Horsham, Littlehaven and Warnham stations will not be operating on other strike days, while services at Balcombe will be reduced to two trains per hour in either direction.
I am afraid that as with previous strikes, there is a knock-on impact on the day after each set of strike dates as RMT members will not work overnight shifts that begin on strike days. The first trains on all routes will be after 07:15, in some cases significantly later.
Further information on the industrial action, including ticket exchanges and refunds, can be found here: https://www.thameslinkrailway.com/travel-information/plan-your-journey/industrial-action.
