I have just received the communication below from Network Rail and GTR regarding the engineering train derailment at London Victoria.
UPDATE FROM NETWORK RAIL AND GTR
ENGINEERING TRAIN DERAILMENT - LONDON VICTORIA
Dear Stakeholder,
We would like to apologise to your constituents who are affected by ongoing disruption on Southern trains and Gatwick Express into London Victoria during this morning's peak service due to a derailed engineering train.
The infrastructure will not be recovered until 5pm at the earliest, therefore services will be impacted until the end of the day. Services are operating at a 50% reduction in and out of Victoria.
There is a severely reduced and disrupted service to and from London Victoria and the Gatwick Express service is currently suspended. To support passengers to get to their destination, GTR has ticket acceptance in place:
• Across GTR services and with other operators;
• South West Trains
• Great Western Railway
• TfL and other operators for all reasonable routes.
Southern and Thameslink services are making additional station calls to support passengers. Passengers are being advised that services will be very busy and to delay travel if possible.
GTR is preparing a plan for this evening’s train service which will be communicated to passengers in advance. Additional staff will be at London Victoria and London Bridge in order to assist and provide information to passengers where alternative journeys need to be made.
Additional information for passengers can be found here.
We will keep you updated.
