Southern Rail Statement

As you are very aware despite repeated reassurances the train service has continued to operate substantially below what anyone could regard as reasonable.

Dementia Friendly Horsham

In the Horsham District, it is estimated that 2,500 people will be living with dementia by 2020. Dementia is one of our greatest health and social care challenges. An estimated 850,000 people are already living with dementia in the UK and this number is expected to double over the next 30 years.

Horsham's Libraries

Start your Own Business with the Help of your Local Library" was the surprising email I received this week.  It advertised West Sussex Libraries' Business Information Service.  It is typical of a range of ways that Libraries are evolving their service – as I discovered visiting Billingshurst, Southwater and Horsham Libraries as part of National Library week.

Novartis Update and Employment in Horsham

This week in the Commons, I congratulated Novartis and the County Council on the progress they have made on the Novartis site.  We all want good jobs created in the town which are “future proofed” - driving innovation.  The rising levels of UK employment (over two million new jobs created) is one of the great successes of the last few years.

Celebrating Horsham Hospital

Last Friday I spent the morning visiting Horsham Hospital.  Local health provision has many issues which need to be addressed as the population grows but I hope that as part of that we will see an expansion of services at Horsham Hospital, a highly prized community asset.

Novartis Site Get's New Future

January is a time for new beginnings and I am thrilled at the new future, announced today, of the Novartis Site.
