March marks Ovarian Cancer Awareness month. Every year 7,495 women are sadly diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
It is vital that women know the key symptoms to look out for to ensure a prompt diagnosis. The four main symptoms are:
-Having a bloated tummy
-Experiencing tummy pain
-Always feeling full
-Needing to wee more often
Any person experiencing one or more of these symptoms, which are not normal for them, should book an appointment with their GP.
Target Ovarian Cancer recently conducted research which concerningly showed that 40% of women in the UK believe that cervical screening will detect ovarian cancer. This is not the case and it is therefore really important that women are aware of symptoms and act upon them.
