Supporting Local Schools

The majority of schools in the Horsham constituency are rated either “Good” or “Outstanding” by Ofsted and parents recognise the quality of education their children receive.

Recent years have seen the opening of Bohunt Horsham which is currently open to just secondary school students but will be opening its primary school provision in September 2024. Two further primary schools at Kilnwood Vale and Woodgate, Pease Pottage have also recently opened serving the needs of those communities.

Many of our existing schools have also benefitted from additional investment; including Collyers who continue to expand their offering to students and Greenway Academy which has received funding from the DfE to completely rebuild.

We are currently going through a “bulge” in secondary school admissions and I am determined that sufficient school places must be made available by the County and local academies in our local area to educate local children. I am also determined that children with SEN who need specialist schooling places can also access local provision.

Please see below for updates on how I am supporting our local schools.

Celebrating Exam Success

Over the last few weeks GCSE, A Level, BTEC and T Level students have been receiving their results.

Results day can be a hugely exciting time and heralds the start of a new chapter; I wish all those who received their results the very best with their future endeavours.

GCSE Results Day

Congratulations to students who are today receiving their GCSE results.

I know our young people have had a disrupted few years at school and that despite these challenging times, young people have worked really hard to catch up and try their very best.

A Level and T Level Results Day

Congratulations to all those students who are today picking up their A Level and T Level results. These results will mean that many are able to take their next steps whether that be going to university in September, starting an apprenticeship or entering the world of work.

Getting School Places Right

Over the last four years we have had some good news in terms of new school building in the area. Bohunt, Woodgate and Kilnwood Vale Primary Schools have all been built in their respective developments.
