I am delighted that 61.8% of residents in the Horsham constituency now have access to ‘gigabit’ fibre broadband – up from 9% in 2019 – and 96.2% of residents now have access to superfast broadband.
Building Digital UK (BDUK) aims to award the contract for the Government’s ‘Project Gigabit’ in West and East Sussex by the end of the year. This will support gigabit broadband coverage in up to 62,100 premises not covered by commercial rollout with a contract value of up to £100.6 million.
I am aware that rural areas of the constituency such as Rudgwick, Barns Green and Slinfold are not currently covered by the commercial rollout of fibre broadband. WSCC is working with the Government to deliver Project Gigabit and I would encourage households not covered to register with WSCC: https://www.westsussex.gov.uk/business-and-consumers/broadband-in-west-sussex/slow-or-no-broadband/
