The Communication Workers’ Union (CWU) has called on its members who collect, sort and deliver parcels and letters to take strike action on Friday 30 September; Saturday 1 October; Thursday 13 October; Thursday 20 October 2022; Tuesday 25 October; and Monday 28 November.
The Royal Mail has contingency plans in place but customers should expect significant disruption. The Royal Mail will deliver as many Special Delivery and Tracked24parcels as possible and will prioritise the delivery of Covid test kits and medical prescriptions.
The Royal Mail is advising people to post their items as early as possible in advance of strike dates and to continue to post items at Postboxes or Post Offices.
Further dates have also been announced by the CWU for functional strike action which impacts parts of the Royal Mail’s operation. More details can be found here: https://www.royalmail.com/latest-news
