I am very pleased with the progress that is being made in local policing. With over 650 additional police officers across Sussex we are seeing greater police visibility in Horsham which is being further assisted by apps for both publicans and retailers which links them to each other and the police in real time.
The creation of a dedicated "Horsham Town Police Team" I think is a major positive with a core of police officers and PCSOs who we will see regularly on our streets.
I am very grateful to Inspector Durkan and members of his team for attending the Normandy Centre on Friday evening to explain to residents about the change and the improvements they should expect to see. He was clear he intends to hold similar meetings during the course of next year and similar models will be increasingly apparent in Billingshurst, Southwater and across the District.
