Jeremy Quin, MP for Horsham, has welcomed plans for the hydrotherapy pool at Horsham Hospital to be refurbished.
Many residents previously benefitted from the hydrotherapy pool located at the hospital. However, during Covid the pool was shut with major refurbishment work required.
Jeremy said “I know hydrotherapy can help with a number of different health conditions. I was very disappointed when the decision was taken to shut the pool and remove this vital service from local residents.
I have followed this up with Sussex MSK, one of the teams based at Horsham Hospital who utilised the pool in the past and I am pleased that they have the budget in place to carry out the necessary refurbishment and plans are in place for the work to be tendered later this year.
“Frustratingly, it will be some time before the pool is back open for patients’ use but I do welcome this progress. While we would all want to see a full scale new local hospital, in the meantime the more services and appointments offered at Horsham Hospital means less travel time and inconvenience for patients.”
