Senior representatives from the Royal Mail recently briefed Sussex MPs on progress being made with delays to deliveries many constituents are experiencing locally. Royal Mail reported that they are now hitting 93% of delivery points in Sussex, up from 86% last October to December.
I am afraid I don’t think the issues we had encountered are fixed by a long shot (and we were one of the worst affected areas). However when I met the Royal Mail team at the Horsham Delivery Office in December, at that point they had 24 vacancies. I understand that the Horsham team currently have nine vacancies and I will be visiting them later this month for a further update on recruitment. I will update constituents again after my meeting which will also address areas of the constituency not covered by the Horsham sorting office.
