I know many constituents have been frustrated by delays to Royal Mail postal deliveries and I revisited the Horsham Delivery Office last week for an update on progress they have made on recruitment.
I am pleased that the Horsham Office have taken on and retained 18 new entrants this year and real progress has been made.
I am however very aware that many constituents in the east of the Horsham constituency who are covered by Crawley Delivery Office are still experiencing ongoing delays. Royal Mail are very aware of the Crawley Office’s slower progress with recruitment. A national taskforce has been deployed to Crawley and Royal Mail are being more proactive in their recruitment drive by working with the DWP and local Job Centres.
I am pleased that progress has been made in Horsham and I will continue to monitor Royal Mail’s efforts to get on top of the particularly acute delays being experienced in areas covered by Crawley Delivery Office.
