I recently asked for a briefing with Transport for the South East (TfSE) and other MPs to discuss TfSE’s ‘Strategic Investment Plan’.
Issues discussed included how important it is that Gatwick enables local councils to be fully engaged - any expansion at Gatwick could have a profound impact on transport locally. Other MPs and I have already written to Gatwick on this issue and are continuing to pursue it.
I also raised the need for improved rail infrastructure between Horsham and Crawley – this has been a regular point of contention with transport providers and I have enlisted the help of TfSE to reopen this issue with Network Rail. Notwithstanding the reduction in rail passengers since the pandemic, I am not prepared to let this drop.
