The Health Secretary in a speech today has specifically raised the issue of lobular breast cancer which accounts for 15% of breast cancers and has stated that she will be encouraging research into this dreadful disease.

Jeremy Quin, the Member of Parliament for Horsham, met Minister Andrea Leadsom on Monday 8th January to discuss pharmacy services in Horsham and the surrounding area.

Today is "Brew Monday" a day where the Samaritans remind everyone to reach out for a cuppa and a catch-up.

The 15th January is sometimes referred to as the "most difficult day of the year" and it's important that we reach out and connect.

Residents will recall that last month the Care Quality Commission published its result of an inspection of East Surrey Hospital’s maternity department. The CQC rated the department as “requires improvement” a fall from its previous rating of “outstanding”.

I am aware that many people locally have concerns about pharmacy services – and it was an issue raised at the Horsham District Older Peoples’ Forum.

Many in Horsham are aware of the brilliant work of Dr Susan Michaelis on Lobular Breast Cancer. After a helpful meeting earlier in the year with the Minister I am keen to get a follow up alongside Susan.

Today I once again visited the South East Coast Ambulance Service at their base in Crawley.

Ehlers-Danlos seriously impacts a number of constituents and I was pleased last week to attend the Ehlers-Danlos Support UK's panel where I was interested to learn more about the diagnosis and treatment of the condition.

Last night I was present at the brand new St Catherine's Hospice in Pease Pottage when they received the keys of the building.
