Supporting Our Young People

Jeremy Quin was not returned to Parliament in the General Election held on 4th July 2024. The information below is therefore historic.

We have nearly 40,000 young people living in the Horsham District.

Post Covid, and in an increasingly online world, our young people feel under more pressure than ever before.

In March 2022 I launched a campaign to establish a safe place in Horsham for local young people to seek advice and support away from home and school and without a referral. I was delighted when we secured the opening of i-Rock Horsham District in July 2023 and was pleased to be joined by Dr Alex George (TV Personality and Mental Health Ambassador) to help publicise the launch.

Whilst we now have i-Rock in place I am determined to make sure it is well used by young people and to look into other areas of concern for them.

Please see below for updates on supporting our young people.

Jeremy Quin Visits 4TheYouth

On Friday I visited 4TheYouth at their site on Hurst Road.

4TheYouth provide a fantastic service and I am keen to help them to expand their offering so that more local young people can access their service.

i-Rock and a Happy Christmas!

As I look back on 2023 one of the great successes was the opening of i-Rock Horsham District. I campaigned for i-Rock following discussions with young people at Millais and Collyers.

Supporting Young People

This morning I met once more with Jessica who, in 2021, lost her son Mason to suicide.

Jessica is incredibly focussed on improving how organisations share information and concerns about young people to prevent future tragedies.

2023 So Far...

i-Rock Horsham District

One of the most uplifting moments of the year so far was attending the official opening of i-Rock Horsham District.

On Monday, I joined Southwater Parish Council for the opening of their fabulous new revamped skate park. It is great to see the Parish Council investing in facilities for young people living in the village and further afield.

MP for Horsham joins official opening of i-Rock Horsham District

On Friday (14th July) i-Rock Horsham District officially opened after many months of campaigning by Jeremy Quin, MP for Horsham. He has campaigned for i-Rock ever since the idea was raised with him by local young people as the best way to provide them with walk-in support and advice.
